Seventy-Three; Discovering Your Path.

"I am going to the hills to be alone with God," a student informed Paramahansa Yogananda. "You will not advance spiritually in that way," Paramahansaji replied, "Your mind is not yet ready to concentrate deeply on Spirit. Your thoughts will dwell mostly on memories of people and worldly pastimes, even though you remain in a cave. Cheerful performance of your earthly duties, coupled with daily meditation, is the better path.'---- Paramahansa Yogananda, "Sayings of Paramahansa Yogananda"

The Path of Life is a winding road. Many choices abound in the World. Be of Service to the World with Joy, Love, Devotion and Gratitude. You will see a marked increase in your Good Fortune and Well Being. All things come to those that offer themselves to service of Humanity. There are no greater rewards on Earth than to be of Service. It may not feel that your service is being rewarded or appreciated but do not despair. Life’s Rewards are activated by Faith, Goodwill, Loyalty and Service. Let your Spirit be Indomitable, your Will be Unbreakable, your Resolve be Unshakable.

Thirty-Nine: Touched ByThe Pearl, In The Time Of The Coronavirus

For more than three decades I have waited for you to return to me. … You slipped away and disappeared into the tumultuous waves of the life beyond death. The magic wand of your karma touched you, and you were gone! Though you lost sight of me, never did I lose sight of you! I pursued you over the luminescent astral sea where the glorious angels sail. Through gloom, storm, upheaval, and light I followed you, like a mother bird guarding her young. As you lived out your human term of womb life, and emerged a babe, my eye was ever on you. -- Read more: Paramahansa Yogananda

Have you ever had that feeling that right over your shoulder there is someone watching? Something intangible but yet real and moving you forward with lightening fast speed to the unreachable unattainable heights that you have aways dreamed of aspiring to but where afraid to put into words. Say the words this time. Write the story that will move the multitudes. Sing the song that will start the whole word celebrating in joy. Paint the scene that everyone dreams of. If not now when. When will you ever be fresher, more gathered than being quarantined and bursting at your seams to excel. We are there and are among you and with you in your growth. Don't ask why? It is to be. This is the way we come out of what we have never known before. You can and will be stronger, healthier, happier and more productive than you have ever thought possible. Your father is with you and guiding you to a new and brighter future. Hey come on please follow me I'm the Pied Piper and I'll show you the way to go!

Sixteen: The More You Use What God Has Given You, The More God Will Give You

Finding your way through the page can often be daunting and seem difficult. The thought sometimes is can we fill the page, will it be anything of interest to anyone else but us. Do not fear the more you use what God has given you, the more God will give you. Years earlier working out to train for a ski vacation in Utah a friend who was also a handball partner would train on these wonderful pneumatic machines with me. The saying was on a very difficult abdominal machine that we would do crunches on to build our core for back country hiking and out of bounds skiing. The saying stuck in my mind. Especially after we were standing on an incredibly steep out of bounds chute with two feet of fresh powder. We would look down the untouched slope and then at one another and say The more your use what God has given you, the more God will give you, and then we would jump into the chute and have the ski run of a lifetime to remember always.

Use the gifts that you were given, they were not given to be kept silent and quite in your hidden places. Shout your special talents from the rooftops, cliff tops, until they echo down the mountain sides. Proclaim your individuality and the deep beliefs about life, love, and happiness. Lately the words seem to flow. Ever since that the Mountain Pearls that once took up all my energy and time were put away and shelved, my mind is clear and free. The thing that has become apparent is that the enjoyment that comes from being supportive is far greater than any ski run or mountain that has ever been conquered. Through positive self thinking and wonderful meditation time, the joy of writing is rolling off the keys like giant soft snowflakes and accumulating into a wave of fresh powder down. We hope that you find your joy in life and make your way through the Coronavirus with conviction, strength, fortitude, and self awareness of your health.

Let the Sunshine In

Happy Thanksgiving. I hope everyone is enjoying family and friends today. May you find peace and joy and that you are seeking the light. Let the sunshine in your life. Our beautiful sunflower was in the window of our ranch and my Appaloosa came up and bit the top. He was quite a character and brought great joy to our lives. Snowy was a pure white bundle of happiness.  You just never knew where he would show up. My wife, Kathy Duncan discovered that if you put a bottle of beer in his mouth he would raise his head and chug it. They had a contest one afternoon, Guess who lost?
